Weather Situation
A cold front over western Victoria will cross the State tonight before a low
pressure system develops near the Gippsland coast during Saturday. The low is
expected to deepen significantly off the Gippsland coast of Victoria during
Saturday and early Sunday before moving away to the east Sunday night. A narrow
ridge of high pressure will move across Victoria on Monday before drifting
eastwards on Tuesday as a low pressure trough approaches the Bight.

Forecast for the rest of Friday
Cloudy. Areas of rain late this evening. Winds west to northwesterly averaging
25 to 35 km/h, reaching 40 km/h at times.

Forecast for Saturday
Cloudy. Blizzards. Isolated thunderstorms with hail from midday. Winds west to
southwesterly averaging 25 to 35 km/h, reaching 40 km/h at times, becoming
southwesterly up to 70 km/h during the afternoon.

Forecast for Sunday
Cloudy. Snow easing during the day and contracting to the higher peaks later in
the day, Scattered showers elsewhere. Winds south to southwesterly averaging 55
to 65 km/h, reaching 70 km/h at times, tending southerly up to 55 km/h during
the afternoon. Overnight temperatures falling to around 1 with daytime
temperatures reaching between 5 and 11.

Forecast for Monday
Cloudy. Isolated showers until evening. Winds southerly averaging 15 to 25
km/h, reaching 30 km/h at times, becoming light during the morning. Overnight
temperatures falling to around 4 with daytime temperatures reaching between 12
and 17.
